• PIAM, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Massachusetts Medical
Society, stands for Physicians Insurance Agency of Massachusetts
and as such,
we
work ONLY with physicians and medical practices. Our sole interest
is in serving the needs of Massachusetts physicians, and we have a
very specific understanding of the issues confronting today’s health
care providers.
• PIAM was created in response to the Medical Society’s desire
to offer their members information, professionalism and choice. For
this reason, PIAM
actively seeks out alternative insurance markets, and works to develop
special programs with enhanced coverages and premium discounts.
• To our
strength in medical malpractice issues, we have added the ability to provide
complete insurance programs, offer special services and take
care of
the personal insurance needs of our clients.
• Because PIAM is owned by
the Medical Society, we have access to a full range of the Society's resources
when a physician or practice encounters
a problem
or needs to know more about an issue.
• PIAM has made it a point to
partner with other health care services. We are now in the process
of adding a variety of practice-based solutions
to contain
costs and streamline administration.
• PIAM presents a number of seminars
to physicians and practice managers, ranging from Asset Protection
& Estate Planning to Medical Malpractice. Each spring Harvard
Medical School calls upon PIAM to
speak to
the graduating class, to address their insurance
and financial issues.
