Launches Program to Reduce Malpractice Insurance Premiums Up to 35% for
Eligible Physician Practices
CMIC, a leading doctor-owned
medical malpractice insurer serving Connecticut and Massachusetts today announced
the launch of a new malpractice insurance program which provides significant
premium discounts to Massachusetts physician practices with excellent claims
experience. The Malpractice Quality Initiative (MQI) reduces premiums up
to 30% off current rates, plus an additional 5% credit to practices using
a CCHIT certified EHR.
“CMIC’s goal
is to identify the critical needs of doctors and healthcare professionals
and provide creative solutions to meet those needs. As the cost of doing
business continues to rise, doctors are looking for ways to reduce expenses
and provide patients with more affordable healthcare,” said Denise
Funk, CEO of CMIC. “MQI rewards Massachusetts doctors who show a history
of practicing good medicine with the opportunity to significantly reduce
their premiums.”
MQI includes a fully paid
tail, claims defense using some of Massachusetts best malpractice defense
attorneys, consent-to-settle, comprehensive risk management services and
premium payment options with no finance charge. The program is available
through approved CMIC brokers.
